Basement Finishing · Custom Bar · Collingswood, NJ
A Collingswood family had a full basement doing nothing but storing boxes. MAG turned the bare studs into a bright entertainment level with a custom bar, built-in storage, and a comfortable lounge.

The Challenge
Like a lot of homes in the area, this Collingswood property had a large basement footprint that had never been finished — exposed framing, open ceiling, bare concrete. The family wanted to reclaim that square footage as usable living space without adding onto the house.
Why Finish Down Instead of Building Out
A basement finish is one of the highest-value ways to add livable square footage. The shell already exists, so the investment goes into comfort and finishes — not foundation and roof.
The Solution
MAG framed and finished the full space into distinct zones: a custom wet bar with white subway tile, open shelving, and dark cabinetry; built-in cabinetry and floating shelves along the feature wall; and an open lounge area with warm wood-look flooring throughout. Proper insulation, lighting, and moisture-conscious detailing were built in from the start.
The Result
A finished lower level that works equally well for game nights, watching the big game at the bar, or giving the kids their own space — a true extension of the home’s living area.
